Dmitri notes there's a process of searching and curating in respect to his interests, preferences, and current desires when it comes to your room. Every change of the internal seasons of someone's self, brings forth the acquisition and alterations of his room.
All the changes and movements he undergoes, allow him accumulate a sense of his own history. His history is not stagnant, but presently changing. He takes pictures of the fleeting changes as punchcards of what was, welcoming what's to come.
He keeps track of the history of himself by maintaining remnants, habitual artifacts of who he was. He recalls maintaining childhood hobbies, activities that remind of him of what was. It's a repurposed nostalgia.
The items in his room, though unannounced, carry a silent history encased within his memories. Much like the plaques in museums that define the historical exposition of different artifacts, each artifact within someone's room is memorabilia of personal historical significance.
Bedrooms give you a sense of privacy, the ability to share yourself with yourself. They allow you a place to collect and dispense who you are within a space with less intrusion, without publicity.
