Artist Statement
During my fall semester 2020, I kept finding dead birds. These birds were often chewed, their remnants discarded. I had even found a whole feathered wing. I felt pity for these dead figures. I decided I would offer one of them a ceremonial burial and named him Frank Zappa. Rituals of death, once sanctimonious, is now archaic. I reignite those ancient rituals to offer Frank Zappa, the bird, a resolution.
