Bedrooms as museums.

Bedrooms much like museums encase a history, the specified history of the resident(s) of the room itself. How is this correlation drawn? The history of persons living and breathing in such room is carried tangibly and intangibly. The tangible artifacts are the the decorations, the furniture, and clothes contained in the room. The intangible artifact is the combined essence of the materials in the room. The tangible artifacts of a room, much like a museum, affirm an identity, proceed with a theme and motif. My interest in drawing such a correlation is because we exist as histories of ourselves. How so? Our identity is our history, our past, and experiences that mold us. Bedrooms are a location for that past, a projection of the innards of each person. In making our rooms as they are, by maintaining a tangible history of who we are, we affirm and punctuate ourselves, as real and as producers of a self.
